Observations during storm passage Chata'an formed to the southeast of Chuuk State, FSM over several days at the end of June. During the formation stage, heavy rain was experienced throughout the region. The storm passed directly over Chuuk Lagoon on July 3 dropping torrential rains. As the storm passed, it became more organized and sped up, dropping little rain, but causing the highest wind gusts.
